SALT Galata to host Trilogy

SALT Galata will host vocalist Saadet Türköz, percussionist Amy Salsgiver and saxophonist Angelika Niescier as first-time performers on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m.

Sharing the understanding that music encourages convergence and mutual acceptance, the artists will present a unique improvisational performance inspired by the audience and the architecture at SALT Galata. Organized as part of Long Thursday, Trilogy will feature sounds from avant-garde jazz to Central Asian music genres.

Organized with the support of the Goethe-Institute Istanbul and the Tarabya Cultural Academy, the program is open to all.

Niescier is a jazz musician and saxophonist currently living in Istanbul and is a guest artist at the Tarabya Cultural Academy.

Salsgiver is an American percussionist based in Istanbul, working on popular, classical, modern, and experimental music.

Türköz began her music career as a vocalist for interpretative, experimental and free folk jazz music. Based in Sweden, Türköz continues to work with various musicians and cross-disciplinary artists.
