Following the surprising popularity of the series ‘La Casa De Papel,' Cecilia Krull, who sings the show's theme song ‘My Life is Going On,' will be performing in Istanbul on Sept. 21 and 22

After becoming famous around the world with "My Life Is Going On," the renowned theme song of "La Casa De Papel" ("Money Heist"), Cecilia Krull will come to Istanbul for the first time and be a guest at the Salon venue of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) between Sept. 21 and 22.

Born to and raised by musicians and starting her career singing the songs of Disney films at the age of 7, singer and composer Krull is one of the most important jazz singers of this generation with her French, Cuban, German and Spanish roots.

Performing other styles of music, such as pop, groove and soul, the artist has performed in many countries, such as Spain, France, Sweden and Algeria. She also took part in a number of famous festivals, including Vitoria, Jimmy Glass, Elias Crean, Jn77 'in the Lake, Pinto, Soto del Real, Flavor to Club and the Cultural Festival European of Algiers.

Having performed in musical collaborations with international musicians like Jorge Pardo, Robert Glasper, Javier Colina, Gustav Lundgren, Mel Bringuez, Pedro Itu-rraide, Guillermo McGill, Andreas Unge, Pablo Martin Caminero, Borja Berrueta, Daniel Garcia Bruno, Bob Sands, Pedro Ruy Bias, Pepe Rivero, Gaston Joya, Michael Olivera, Reinier Elizarde and Ivan Melon Lewis, Krull has prepared many soundtracks with Manuell Santisteban. Her vocal contributions can be heard widely and are featured in "Three Meters Above The Sky" (2010), "Fuga de Cerebros 2" (2011), "Ms to Vis "(2016), "The House of Paper" (2017) and "The Accident" (2018).

Krull performed in Ankara a while ago, but this will be her very first concert in Istanbul. "I am really excited. It's very important for me to come to Turkey to sing. I have a lot of messages and covers from Turkey on Instagram, and I am always impressed. So I think it is going to be very special. Hope that we can sing together and share special moments," she noted.

She was amazed by her first gig in Ankara. "It was remarkably amazing! It started to rain suddenly, but people stayed under the rain and enjoyed live music and it was very nice. We took so many photos after the concert. I feel very thankful for that and I really appreciate it," she said, expressing her enthusiasm about Turkish experience.

Having gained worldwide fame with the soundtrack of the popular series "La Casa De Papel," Crull became a big success. "At the very beginning I had a feeling that it was going to be very good because I have worked with Alex Pina, the creator of the project, before. I knew the story and characters. I thought that it would be a good job but none of us expected such widespread international success," she remarked.

Raised by musicians

"Music was always in my life at our home. My father is also a jazz musician, a jazz pianist. I would sing with him while he played. My first memories about music are with him and my grandmas. They were singing Cuban boleros and French chansons. So there was a musical atmosphere at home all the time. When I was 7 years old, I went to a casting from Disney Spain. They were looking for children who could sing. I went to auditions, and they chose me for many productions," Crull said while explaining her musical roots.

A true jazz lover

She enjoys jazz the most while singing. "Jazz is my lover. I'm in love with jazz, but as a singer, the thing that I love to do is to sing! In different styles or genres, I love to play with my voice. It is my instrument."

Crull's songs has been covered many times and shared on social media. "I receive most of them by Instagram. I see everything, and I always try to reply or repost for everybody when they mention me or the song. I feel thankful and grateful! And I must say that most of my Turkish fans are very, very talented," she concluded.
