Voting from their countries of residence for the first time in Turkey's history, most of Turkey's expat voted for Erdoğan, according to unofficial results. Votes from expat Turks arrived in Turkey and were counted at the ATO Congressium in Ankara.

Polls showed that Erdoğan was the winner of votes from abroad with 63.09. At the Turkish borders, Erdoğan garnered 63.64 of the votes while İhsanoğlu received 29.58 percent of the votes. HDP's candidate Demirtaş received 6.78 percent of the votes. In Germany, where a considerable amount of Turks live, Erdoğan received 69.15 percent of the votes. In Austria, Erdoğan garnered 79.25 percent of the votes. I

n the U.S., İhsanoğlu garnered 74.90 percent of the votes while Erdoğan only received 18.34 percent of the votes. In Sweden, Erdoğan received 50.97 percent of the votes, while 33 percent of citizens voted for İhsanoğlu. In Belgium, Erdoğan garnered 68.11 of the votes while İhsanoğlu received 21.91 of the votes. In the U.K., İhsanoğlu received 50.16 percent of the votes and Erdoğan received 26.25 percent of the votes.
