Turkey's ruling AK Party announces group deputy chairman


Turkey's ruling AK Party elected Amasya MP Mehmet Naci Bostancı as new parliamentary group deputy chairman.The chair fell vacant following the appointment of Nurettin Canikli, former deputy group chairman of AK Party, as the new minister of customs and trade, replacing Hayati Yazıcı. Bostancı won 263 votes out of 265 lawmakers who attended Monday's parliamentary group meeting.Bostancı was born in the northern Turkish city of Amasya on August 2, 1957, and he was a professor in the communications department of Gazi University in Ankara before being elected as deputy in 2011.
