This week in Turkish Parliament


Parliament will convene on Tuesday to continue debating the 2015 budget at the Planning and Budget commission. The commission is scheduled to discuss the budget of the Labor and Social Security Ministry and the Ministry of Economy on Tuesday, the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Industry and Technology on Wednesday, the budget of the Ministry of National Defense and Energy and the Natural Resources Ministry of Energy on Thursday and the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture on Friday. Discussions about the new judicial package will also continue at the Justice Commission. On Thursday the draft law on security services that regulates the principles and procedures relating to the fulfillment of the security services in prisons and penitentiary institutions will be discussed in the assembly. Also being discussed in the assembly on Friday are two motions of no confidence for Labor Minister Faruk Celik and Energy Minister Taner Yıldız, which were submitted by the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) after the Soma and Ermenek mine disasters.
