Kılıçdaroğlu tells party members: Don’t waste your energy on ‘rakı’

The leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) once again brought up the 'rakı' matter while addressing party members ahead of the general election set to take place in 2015, warning them not to spare their energy on the alcoholic drink. Kılıçdaroğlu, has previously voiced complaints over how some CHP members turned Turkish politics into a conversation piece of their 'rakı table'.Kılıçdaroğlu, reminded party members of the party rules ahead of the general elections, and, addressing mainly the elitist members of the party, said they should put their energy into working instead of sparing it by drinking rakı. He issued a couple of more warnings to party members in the meeting he held in Eskişehir. Kılıçdaroğlu previously made it clear that he would no longer allow such members into the party because "what the CHP needs is individuals eager to work, not those who trifle." Speaking during the 18th extraordinary CHP congress in September, where he was re-elected as the party leader, Kılıçdaroğlu firmly stated; "We support democracy, but democracy does not mean chaos. Either you follow this party's rules or you leave".He also told members to avoid putting on graces by saying 'let me wear overshoes' in houses they visit as part of the election campaigns. Kılıçdaroğlu had previously warned female members not to wear high heel shoes during their visits."Go in the house just like the members of the households do." Kılıçdaroğlu was quoted as saying.Kılıçdaroğlu has been facing criticism by some party members, who believe he has turned into a tyrannical leader. The first time Kılıçdaroğlu was criticized by his rhetoric was in August when he addressed the party supporters to urge them to go to the ballot box, if they wanted to spend their holidays in peace of mind.
