Bilal Erdoğan:“I do not hold Egyptian passport”

Bilal Erdoğan, the son of Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has refuted claims by Turkish and Egyptian media outlets about a reported discussion regarding the revocation of his alleged Egyptian citizenship and his escape to Georgia, in a written statement released on Monday saying: "I do not hold Egyptian passport, and I did not run away to any country."Bilal Erdoğan stressed that the widely-spread claims are "mere lies and slanders,"as he does not hold an Egyptian passport, and he did not run away to any country. He also stressed that the official records support his claims. Egyptian media claimed this week that the Egyptian court has postponed discussion regarding the revocation of Bilal's citizenship, which was allegedly granted to him by Egypt's former President Mohammed Morsi as a means of assistance after the corruption scandal. Same claims have repeatedly appeared in various forms in the Egyptian media since October 2014.
