The Foreign Ministry has introduced a new communication portal called the Diplomatic Portal on Friday, which aims to be an important information channel from the minister to diplomatic missions, increase interaction among the diplomatic corps and serve as a platform for connecting diplomats living in Ankara.

In the recent years, the Foreign Ministry has made devoted efforts to establish constructive and notable reforms by prioritizing the use of new technology. In this regard, the newly introduced Diplomatic Portal serves as a gateway to easily accessible information and certain online facilities at the service of diplomatic missions, consular posts and international organizations in Turkey. During the introduction meeting of the portal on Friday, ministry officials described the project exclusively for media members and added: "A diplomat arriving in Ankara for the first time will be able to find all necessary information from A to Z in this newly introduced portal.'

Deputy Foreign Minister Naci Koru, who is the chief leader of the ministry's prioritization of the use of new technology, emphasized the great importance of digital diplomacy, e-diplomacy and paper-free office networks. In this regard, the newly introduced Diplomatic Portal is also used to send diplomatic correspondence over the Internet.

Additionally, the portal can also find information about the latest news from the ministry, diplomatic news from embassies and international organizations such as seminars, workshops, film festivals, sports tournaments or concerts that are of relevance to the diplomatic corps in Ankara as well as national days and presentation of credentials.
