A total of 118 police chiefs have been sent into retirement following a ruling by the General Directorate of Security (EGM), an official statement said Wednesday."The ruling came after evaluations at the end of two meetings on May 14-15, 2015, held by the directorate's High Assessment Council," the EGM said in its statement."In accordance with the ruling, 19 first degree, 49 second degree, 27 third degree and 23 fourth degree police chiefs were sent into retirement," it said.It also said that the EGM had appointed and relocated 24,972 police staff, including senior police officers, in 2015."The council has ruled to not change the duty locations of 34,487 police officers," the statement added.
