Two Gülen Movement-affiliated police officers who have been charged with bugging the office of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his tenure as prime minister, were sentenced to seven years with the decision of the high criminal court on Friday. The Ankara 7th High Criminal Court decided that the two Gülen Movement-affiliated suspects, Sedat Zavar and İlker Usta, will be sentenced to seven years and six months for committing "violations of privacy of public official's communication" and "political and military spying." Additionally, the court decided that among 13 suspects, three people's cases will be separated and eight people will be acquitted, including the Gülen Movement-affiliated former president of the Scientific and Technological Research Council's (TÜBITAK) substantial Center of Research for Advanced Technologies of Information Security (BİLGEM), Hasan Palaz, and Gülen Movement-affiliated former president of the Prime Ministry Security Bureau, Mehmet Yüksel.
