Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Tuesday gave the green light for a coalition government to be formed leaving political debates aside. At the first parliamentary group meeting of the CHP after the general elections, Kılıçdaroğlu spoke regarding the debates on possibilities of a coalition government. Stressing the urgency of compromise between the four parties for a new constitution, he said: "On the coalition issue, we will follow the strategy that we followed in the elections. We want a liberal and democratic constitution. Sixty articles were reconciled. Sure, four parties can compromise and bring a good constitution to Parliament."

Kılıçdaroğlu underlined the importance of "focusing on the problems of citizens directly," "avoiding fruitless political debates" and "not marginalizing any citizens."

He said previous political understandings should be left aside in coalition talks: "There are debates on who is going to form a coalition with who. We have also left those debates aside and said those are old political understandings. Of course parties will come together. We have said that we shall make this through principles, in which principles the coalition will be made rather than who will make the coalition with who. We adjusted our principles in this context."
