Deputy PM duties unveiled in Turkey's interim cabinet, MHP MP Türkeş's responsible for three areas


Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has announced on Monday the hotly-anticipated task allocations of deputy prime ministers [particularly the new Deputy PM Tuğrul Türkeş] in the interim government in a statement published on the Official Gazette.According to the allocation PM Davutoğlu will oversee institutions and organizations, the National Security Council General Secretariat, the National Intelligence Organization, Presidency of Religious Affairs, Housing Development Administration and the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey Administration.Meanwhile, the Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) MP, Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş will be responsible for Council of State, National Security Council and the coordination of Cyprus alliance of civilizations project in the 63rd government.Türkeş's acceptance of a role in the interim government has stirred controversy among his party members and the MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli who strongly opposed Türkeş's decision.Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan will be responsible for the execution of works relating to relations with Parliament and Public Diplomacy, institutions and organizations, the General Directorate of Press and Information, Radio and Television Corporation General Directorate of Turkey, Anadolu Agency, Radio and Television General Directorate Supreme Council and the General Secretariat of the Promotion Fund.Deputy PM Numan Kurtulmuş is to be the government spokesman and responsible for the coordination of human rights related institutions and organizations. In addition Kurtulmuş is also responsible for overseeing the Directorate General of Foundations, Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency, Disaster and Emergency Management of Turkey and Turkey Human Rights Association. Deputy PM Cevdet Yılmaz will be responsible for the coordination of economy related issues, institutions and organizations, the Treasury, the Central Bank of Republic of Turkey, the General Directorate of Ziraat Bank, Halk Bank, Turkey Development Bank, Export Credit Bank of Turkey, Foundations Bank of Turkey, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund.
