Academician Prof. Dr. Beril Dedeoğlu has been appointed as the EU Affairs Minister and Chief Negotiator, while Cüneyt Düzyol, the undersecretary of the Development Ministry, has been appointed as the Development Minister, the Prime Ministry said in a statement released late Tuesday.Earlier Tuesday, Former Development Minister Müslüm Doğan and Former EU Affairs Minister and Chief Negotiator Ali Haydar Konca from the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) had resigned from their posts in the interim cabinet earlier on Tuesday. The resignations came during a cabinet meeting in Ankara. Following the ministers' resignation, just before the press meeting, a statement made by the prime minister's office said, "Mr. Prime Minister thanked them for taking part in the election government as a requirement of constitutional obligation and said leaving was also their own decision. A commissioning will be made soon."
