PM Davutoğlu to announce new Cabinet by Wednesday

As the Supreme Election Board (YSK) recently announced the official results of the Nov. 1 elections, Parliament will convene on Tuesday for the newly elected deputies to be sworn in. With deputies taking their oaths, the chairman of the Justice and Development Party, (AK Party) Ahmet Davutoğlu, is expected to form the government on Nov. 18, which is a significant date due to the party's first formation of a government in 2002 by former Chairman Abdullah Gül. In this regard, Nov. 18 is viewed as "bringing back the spirit of the early days."

Shortly following the oath-taking ceremony, Davutoğlu is expected to receive authorization to form the next government on Tuesday evening from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Voting rounds to choose the new Parliament speaker is expected to take place on Nov. 22, followed by an announcement of the new government's agenda. The agenda of the new government is to be announced on Nov. 23 as discussions regarding the agenda are expected to be held on Nov 26. With this timeline, after the finalization of the government agenda, a vote of confidence for the new government will take place on Nov. 28.
