According to a recent public opinion poll conducted by the MAK Consultancy, in the hypothetical situation that elections were held tomorrow, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) would receive 52.5 percent of the vote, more than three points more than the party received in the Nov. 1 elections.

In a survey with 5,670 participants from 31 provinces through face-to-face interviews, the decline in the Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) popularity continued with 11.1 percent of the vote, dropping from 11.9 percent, while the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) stayed just above the 10 percent electoral threshold.

The Republican People's Party (CHP) received 24.7 percent, less than it got in the Nov. 1 elections, which was 25.3 percent. When participants were asked whether a new constitution is necessary, 61 percent believed redrawing the constitution was necessary, while 53 percent of them said Turkey should adopt a presidential system. As a salient figure, among those who said that they would vote MHP in a likely election, 34 percent of them said Meral Akşener should be the new party chair, leaving behind current chairman Devlet Bahçeli with 26 percent.

Concerning the debates in the CHP over Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership, 34 percent of CHP voters among the participants said Kılıçdaroğlu should continue to hold the office while his main rival, Muharrem İnce, received 31 percent.

Around 71 percent of participants said DAESH is purely a terrorist organization and 64.3 percent also said Turkey will be successful in the fight against terror. In the survey, participants highlighted the importance of the AK Party keeping its promises over counterterror policies.
