The new government program stressed that ongoing efforts to eradicate the Gülen Movement will continue along with the fight against the organization's alleged sponsors and protectors.The Gülen Movement, led by Fettullah Gülen, was recently defined in an indictment handed out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) due to the movement's efforts to infiltrate state institutions and overthrow the elected government. In line with the new government program, Gülenists and those supporting the illicit organization will be combated until they are wiped out. "These new Gülenist sponsors, who aim to subvert the judiciary, security, bureaucracy, and different segments of our civil society and business community, present a major threat to our national security. Their efforts to reduce government transparency poses a threat to national security. We will continue our struggle against these sponsors with determination until they are eradicated," the government program stated.
