Turkey's 64th gov't meets for the first time, deputy PM duties announced


Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister and government spokesman Numan Kurtulmuş announced the task allocations among the deputy prime ministers in Turkey's 64th gov't after the newly-announced government's first cabinet meeting on Friday.Speaking after the meeting in Ankara, Kurtulmuş said he will continue to carry out his duty as the gov't spokesman and he will also be responsible for the relations with Parliament and Public Diplomacy, institutions and organizations, the General Directorate of Press and Information, Radio and Television Corporation General Directorate of Turkey, Anadolu Agency and related institutions.Deputy PM Mehmet Şimşek will be responsible for the coordination of economy related issues, institutions and organizations, the Treasury, the Central Bank of Republic of Turkey, the General Directorate of Ziraat Bank, Halk Bank, Turkey Development Bank, Export Credit Bank of Turkey, Foundations Bank of Turkey, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund.Deputy PM Yalçın Doğan will be responsible for overseeing the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency, Disaster and Emergency Management of Turkey, the institutions related to the Turks living abroad.Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş will be responsible for the executions of works relating to the relations between public institutions and the government.Deputy Prime Minister Lütfi Elvan will be responsible for chairing the parliamentary Budget and Planning Commission.
