Journalists and public relations

The Economy and Money pages are filled with company news. Is that normal? The Politics pages contain news about political parties and the sports page is filled with club news after all.But the money always makes things more complicated. Let's say you covered news about a certain company. Its competitor would call you and accuse you of advertising for his competitor. When you start researching the news, you usually bump into public relations (PR).The fragile relationship between journalists and PR specialists is a long story, but let me emphasize a few key points.First, journalists see the PR of companies as a news source and that is quite natural. But they should not use the bulletins sent by PR as is. Then, the journalist must read the bulletin and investigate, research and draw their own conclusions about the matter to write their own article. And when writing the article, journalists must take into consideration the competitors of the company and use informative headlines and expressions rather than praiseful ones. Finally, sentences in the future tense should not be reflected in the past tense and the commitments and the projects discussed must be followed up.In doing so, both the reader and economic players would be well-respected.
