As the relative coolness of June made way for the scorching heat in July, it is time for our monthly look at Daily Sabah's "Most Read" list.

This time we have four lists to draw upon due to a one-week hiatus in the Reader's Corner. But, it still gives us ample opportunity to gauge readers' interests and preferences.

Earlier, a letter from the consul-general of Poland pushed the list to this week. On that note, last month saw an increased number of letters published on the Reader's Corner and we hope the trend continues. Now, without further ado, let us get right to the statistics.

Similar to the past three months, politics continue to be the leading category based on the number of news articles on the top 10 lists. This week the numbers between first, second, third and fourth places were unusually close. In total, "Politics" had 10 news articles; only two of which were without a subcategory and the remaining eight were evenly distributed between "War on Terror" and "Diplomacy."

Up next was "Turkey," with its eight news articles. Only one was filed under the subcategory under "İstanbul," while the remaining were listed under the main category "Turkey."

Third place went to "Business." With three articles, the subcategory "Tourism" took the lead, clearly showing the effects of the ongoing holiday season. "Economy", "Defense" and "Energy" each had one under their belts, while one article was with not listed in any of the subcategories.

Next up was the "World" category with a total of six news articles. "Europe" and "Mideast" subcategories each had two news articles, while the remaining two news articles were evenly distributed amongst the "Americas" and "Syrian Crisis."

With its four news articles, "Life" took fifth place, as it held on to its number of entries on the list but went down in placement. Similar to the past months, the "History" subcategory took the lead here with two news articles given archeology is a popular interest among our readers. On the other hand, the "Religion" and "Science" subcategories made a rare appearance with single news articles.

With three articles from Ragıp Soylu, İlnur Çevik, and Yahya Bostan, regulars in the top 10 list, "Columns" continued its presence, despite the lower number of entries compared to other categories.

The remaining two news articles each belonged to two different categories, one of them in "Arts" under the "Cinema" subcategory, while the other was in "Sports" under the "Football" subcategory.

With no surprise entries in the past month, the consistency in our readers' preference is apparent. It is clear that "Tourism" had an increased presence due to its relevance, just as "Religion" did during Ramadan. As it appears, despite the change in weather, our readers' preferences have remained the same in June.
