Housing prices increase on Kanal Istanbul route


The website www.sahibinden.com, one of Turkey's leading free ad and online shopping site, has recently announced that Küçükçekmece, Başakşehir, Esenyurt and Arnavutköy, which are mentioned on the proposed Kanal Istanbul route, are among Istanbul's most promising districts in terms of real estate.

The website evaluated the districts along the route through Kanal Istanbul, one of Turkey's largest projects that will change the face of Istanbul. According to a statement released by the website, Küçükçekmece, Başakşehir, Esenyurt and Arnavutköy, which are mentioned on the said project's route, have been listed among the promising districts of the city.

The average price per square meter in Başakşehir for apartments on the market reached the highest level in three years at TL 3,458 ($987.24), according to the sahibinden.com real estate index data from May. In Küçükçekmece, on the other hand, the average price per square meter rose by 51.52 percent to TL 3,375 ($963.54) in the last three years, while the average price per square meter for apartments in Arnavutköy climbed 56.41 percent to TL 2,170 ($619) in the same period.
