Elif Zeynep Yılmaz, Turkey's first female mosque guide, delivers presentations on Islam to foreign tourists visiting the information center adjacent to Sultanahmet Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque.The Turkish Presidency for Religious Affairs (DİB) has assigned mosque guides to Turkey's prominent mosques to inform local and foreign tourists regarding Islamic culture. For the last two years, Yılmaz has been delivering information sessions at the mosque. Yılmaz told an Anadolu Agency (AA) reporter that she receives good feedback from foreign visitors. They are pleased to see a woman, she says. The information sessions at Sultanahmet take place at noon and in the afternoon.
