Real Madrid crowned 2014 UEFA Super Cup winners


UEFA Champions League's reigning champions Real Madrid defeated UEFA Europa League reigning champions Sevilla 2-0 in 2014 UEFA Super Cup final at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday night, winning the trophy after a 12-year-break.Spanish giants Real Madrid, aka Los Blancos (The Whites), took the lead when their Portuguese powerhouse Cristiano Ronaldo tapped the ball - whipped by Welsh star Gareth Bale - into the net in the 30th minute: 1-0.During the first half Real Madrid seemed to dominate the game by possessing the ball and retaining positions.In the 49th minute, Real Madrid increased the gap to two when Ronaldo - assisted by Karim Benzema - smashed the ball into the top corner, clinching the victory for Real Madrid.Jubilant Real Madrid players celebrated the triumph against Sevilla after the final whistle. The 33-year-old 'Los Blancos' captain Iker Casillas lifted the trophy during the ceremony as Real Madrid players posed for a souvenir photo.
