Turkish boxers advance to quarter finals in Baku


Turkish boxers Ferhat Pehlivan and Yasin Yılmaz advanced to the quarter-finals in the Baku 2015 European Games this weekend.Pehlivan defeated Elie Konki of France 3-0 in the Men's Boxing Fly (52kg) Round of 16 at the Crystal Hall 2 in Baku. Yılmaz eliminated Michal Zatorsky of Slovakia in the Men's Boxing Fly (60kg). Pehlivan will face Italian Vincenzo Picardi and Yılmaz will come up against Sean McComb of Ireland in the quarter-finals tomorrow. Yasemin Anagöz of Turkey, who competed against Line Blomen Ridderstrom of Norway in the Archery Women's Individual 1/32 Elimination, advanced to the quarter-finals too.İbrahim Çolak of Turkey, who competed in the Men's Rings final on day eight of the Baku 2015 European Games, won the bronze medal. Russian trampoline gymnasts Yana Pavlova and Anna Kornetskaya won gold in the synchronized final by almost two points over silver medalists Marine Jurbert and Joelle Vallez of France.
