Turkish Airlines sponsors 100 golf tournaments in 60 countries

Sponsors are crucial for the existence, development, and most importantly, survival of a sport and that is no different for golf. Golf is supported by the most valuable brands in the world and our flagship Turkish Airlines is one of these valuable brands.

Turkish Airlines has supported golf for many years now. In this context, the company has sponsored many tournaments in Turkey, hosting the giants of golf. It also organizes an amateur series: the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup.

This year, 100 tournaments have been organized in 60 countries, and 8,000 golfers play in these series. The Istanbul leg of these tournaments was recently organized at the Istanbul Kemer Country Golf Club.

A total of 298 golfers competed in the tournament, including Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, British Consul General Judith Slater, Turkish Football Federation President Yıldırım Demirören and Opet Chairman Fikret Öztür. The final leg of the tournament will be in Antalya in the coming days.

Ladies Go 4 Golf

Ladies Go 4 Golf was formed by the female captains of golf clubs in Turkey. This is the best evidence of the deep presence of women in Turkish golf.

Merve Sarıgöl, the new female captain of the 121-year-old Istanbul Golf Club, started this initiative by meeting with the captains of all the clubs in Turkey immediately after she was assigned to improve relations between them. The first tournament takes place at the Marmara Golf Course on Sunday.

Another important mission of this organization is a social responsibility project. Tournament participants will also contribute to the education of students studying medicine and law.

Turkish-Korean Friendship Tournament

Foreigners residing in Turkey for business and/or other reasons are also very interested in golf. Acquaintances formed on the golf course turn into friendships. Thus, friendship tournaments developed.

One such tournament is the Turkish-Korean Friendship Tournament, which will take place over the weekend at the Klassis Golf Club. Ambassadors and ministers from both countries are expected to attend. I wish all the players success in advance.
