Turkish paralympic powerlifter Besra Duman wins bronze

Turkey's Besra Duman clinched a bronze medal at the World Para Powerlifting Championship in Mexico City Tuesday.

The 16-year-old lifted 106 kilograms to become third in the women's below 50-kilogram weight class. Egypt's Rehab Ahmed claimed gold medal while Vietnam's Dang Thi Linh Phuong took silver in the event.

The world championship is being held in the Mexican capital as part of the 2017 Para Sport Festival, which began Saturday. The seven-day sports festival will end on Dec. 8.
