Galatasaray secured a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 clash, gaining an early advantage ahead of the return match at Anfield.

The Istanbul side took the lead early in the match through Mario Lemina, who scored in the seventh minute to put the hosts ahead.

The result gives the yellow-reds a slim advantage before the second leg, which will be played at Anfield in England.

The return match of the tie is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18.
