Trabzonspor has turned a young Liverpool fan’s enduring admiration for Mohamed Salah into an unforgettable reunion, arranging a surprise meeting between the Egyptian star and the boy during a training session in Trabzon.
The Turkish club shared footage of the emotional encounter on its social media accounts under the headline "Bir kulüpten daha fazlası,” meaning "More than just a club.” The video quickly drew widespread attention and praise from fans.
The boy, Isaac Kearney, is a Liverpool supporter from the Kirkby area who has followed Salah’s career closely. Isaac previously attracted attention for his love of Liverpool and Salah, leading the Premier League club to arrange several special moments for him, including meetings with Salah and other players.
When Salah left Liverpool for Trabzonspor this summer, Isaac made it clear that his support for the player would continue.
Trabzonspor officials took notice and decided to give him a chance to see his football hero again. The club arranged for Isaac and his family to travel from England to Trabzon on a Turkish Airlines flight without telling Salah about the surprise.
The club’s video follows the family’s journey and arrival in Türkiye before showing Isaac being taken to Trabzonspor’s training ground. He was presented with club gifts, including a personalized jersey bearing Salah’s name and No. 10.
The biggest moment came when Isaac entered the training session and greeted Salah.
The Egyptian forward appeared genuinely surprised before embracing the youngster. Isaac also greeted goalkeeper Andre Onana and was introduced to other members of the squad.
Trabzonspor captured the reunion on video and shared the footage online, where it quickly generated thousands of reactions, comments and shares.
For Isaac, the meeting was another memorable chapter in his relationship with Salah, a player he has continued to support despite the forward’s move away from Liverpool.
The reunion also adds a human element to Salah’s new chapter in Turkish football.
Salah joined Trabzonspor this summer after nine seasons at Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the club’s greatest modern players. He won major honors including the Premier League and Champions League and became one of the most recognizable figures in world football.
His move to Trabzonspor generated enormous excitement among supporters, with his arrival greeted by a passionate reception at Papara Park.
Now, the club has added another memorable moment to Salah’s early days in the Black Sea city.
Rather than simply presenting the reunion as a promotional stunt, Trabzonspor framed the gesture around the relationship between a young fan and his football idol. That message was reflected in the club’s choice of "More than just a club” as the video’s title.
The response online suggested the gesture struck a chord well beyond Trabzonspor’s own fan base.
