Arçelik partners with Google in next generation TVs


Turkish household appliances producer Arçelik will integrate Google's Android TV platform into its next-generation smart televisions, the company said in a statement on Friday. The Google platform will work in the smart televisions developed under the sub-brands Beko and Grundig, the statement said. Users will be able to access Google applications at the Google Play online download site tailored for the platform. Google has agreed to partner with Sony, Sharp, and TP Vision to offer the platform on TVs as well as with Arçelik. The Android operating system is forecasted for use on more than 1 billion devices worldwide. Arçelik is a household appliances manufacturer, has operations in more than 100 countries and employs over 19,000 people.
