The production of domestic cellphones rose 59 percent reaching 279,118 in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, according to data compiled from the Information and Communication Technologies Authority. Also, while 3.15 million cellphones were imported in the first quarter of 2014, the figure rose by 26 percent to 3.99 million during the same period of 2015.
