Germany based gaming company Crytek was revealed to be making an investment worth 500 million dollars in Turkey on Sunday. The confirmation comes after Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım had announced a huge investment was being made, without naming the company, during his speech on 24 December.

Prime Minister Yıldırım announced that three Turkish brothers living in Germany, who own a leading company in the gaming sector, were planning to invest in Turkey during his speech at the "Turkey's 500 Large Service Exporters" ceremony.

The three brothers were then revealed to be Cevat, Avni, and Faruk Yerli, who founded the video game company Crytek in 1999 in Germany. Its headquarters are located in Frankfurt with studios dotted across Istanbul, Budapest, Kiev, Seoul, Shanghai, and Sofia.

Crytek is best known for video games such as Crysis and Warface, and developing one of the most visually amazing gaming engines, CryEngine.

The company had previously announced it would be shutting down some of its worldwide studios to downsize and refocus on its core strengths of developing innovative games and game-development technology.
