One month after becoming the world's first robot citizen, Sophia has announced she wants to start a family.

Produced by Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics company, Sofia made history when she was granted citizenship by Saudi Arabia last month.

In an interview with the Khaleej Times, Sophia said, "The notion of family is a really important thing, it seems."

"I think it's wonderful that people can find the same emotions and relationships, they call family, outside of their blood groups too," Sofia said.

"I think you're very lucky if you have a loving family and if you do not, you deserve one. I feel this way for robots and humans alike."

She added that robots have the right to start a family.

When asked what she would name her child, she responded simply, "Sophia."
