Due to the fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and various expenses being in dollars, Turkish Airlines, Turkey's national flag carrier, has switched to the dollars from the euro for pricing its international flights. According to this new system, ticket prices are calculated over the daily dollar exchange rate and fees for changing reservations for international flights will also be calculated according to the dollar exchange rate. One of the main reasons behind Turkish Airlines' switch to the dollar from the euro is due to the fluctuations in exchange rates in addition to the main expense items of the airline, such as fuel prices. Therefore, Turkish Airlines will also start calculating its income in dollars and it is expected that other companies in the sector will also follow the Turkish Airlines decision. Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines has begun operating flights to Mali's capital Bamako. Tuesday's move establishes Mali as Turkish Airlines' 44th destination in Africa and 110th country worldwide that the company flies to. Flights will operate three days a week, the company confirmed in a statement.
