Turkish Airlines announced Wednesday that it added five more round-trip flights between Turkey's southern resort city of Antalya and the Russian capital, Moscow, increasing the number of direct flights between the two cities up to seven days a week.

The additional daily nonstop flights started on Sunday, according to the press release.

Round-trip fares from Moscow to Antalya start from €219 (around $236), the airline said, adding the prices included taxes.

Turkey's flag carrier has over 330 aircraft and flies to almost 300 destinations around the world, more than any other airline, according to the company.

The airline increased its total number of passengers by 2.5 percent year-on-year to reach 62.8 million in 2016, according to a stock exchange filing report revealed on Jan. 11.

Turkish Airlines was named Airline of the Year by Air Transport News magazine readers in March last year. The flag carrier was also named Europe's Best Airline for the sixth consecutive year in the 2016 Skytrax World Airlines Awards.
