A new statement released by Booking.com indicates that the company will issue a formal objection to the legal ruling from a Turkish court, which ruled that Booking.com activities be suspended in Turkey last week after a lawsuit was filed by the Turkish Travel Agencies' Association (TURSAB) for unfair competition.

Booking.com officials stated that it is "not necessary" to block Turkish users' access to the website, emphasizing that Turkish customers may use the website for reservations made abroad while European customers can also use the website to book reservations for travel to Turkey.

The statement issued by the media department of Booking.com stated that the company disagrees with the court's decision, stressing that the company operates in full compliance with Turkish legislation and "In that regard, we will exercise our right to appeal and object," the statement read.

The company asserted that as an online booking company and technology developer, Booking.com grants Turkish customers access to accommodation options around the world in an open and transparent online environment as well as provide customers the opportunity to compare prices and travel options.

"We also promote valuable incremental business for more than 13,000 Turkish accommodation providers of all kinds across the country - providers who partner with us and choose to list their properties on our platform. We have strong confidence that there will be a positive outcome and we hope that our Turkish customers will soon be able to enjoy our services for their domestic travel plans."
