Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci announced Wednesday that Turkish authorities will host officials from online booking portal Booking.com on June 22.

On March 29, an Istanbul court had suspended the site's activities in Turkey, after the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) filed a lawsuit against the leading online travel agency citing unfair competition.

The minister met Booking.com representatives last month and presented the conditions that would allow the website to resume operations in Turkey.

After the meeting, Zeybekci said Turkey had the right to claim a monetary share from Booking.com as the firm has profited greatly from its operations in Turkey, despite the fact that their administrative offices were located abroad.
