Tourist figures reach 26 million in September
The number of foreign tourists who visited Turkey in September reached 3.92 million, a 12.54 percent increase compared to same period the year prior, bringing the total number of foreign visitors in the first nine months of the year to 25.63 million, a 10.76 percent increase.
According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, the highest number of visitors in the first nine months of the year was from Germany at 3.72 million tourists. Germany is followed by Russia, with 3.18 million visitors and English tourists came in third with 2.2 million paying visits to Turkey.
England was followed by Iran, Bulgaria, Holland France, Georgia, Syria and Italy in terms of number of visitors to come to Turkey this year thus far. In September alone, Germany once again topped the list with 570,384 tourists, the majority of which visited Antalya.
