Turkey enjoys both sun and snow

While the majority of the nation has been engulfed in heavy downpours and chilly weather, Antalya’s popular Alanya destination is seeing sunny days with 14 degree temperatures, offering tourists the opportunity to swim and sunbathe.

Foreign tourists staying at the Goldcity Tourism Complex in Alanya's Kargıcak district flocked to their hotel pools when they saw the sunny weather.

With temperatures measuring 14 degrees, tourists came out in bathing suits and bikinis and enjoyed the chance to swim in February.

Prime skiing in Kartalkaya

Meanwhile, vacationers in Kartalkaya spent the weekend enjoying the three meter snowfall as crowds of winter sports-lovers came out to ski and snowboard.

After three days of bouts of snowfall, snow depth in Kartalkaya has reached a whopping three meters. Filled to full capacity, Kartalkaya's hotel parking lots were full over the weekend due to the intense interest, forcing visitors to have to walk up to the ski course, where they spent the weekend skiing and snowboard on three-meters of snow.

Grand Kartal Hotel General Manager Halit Ergül explains that with snow depth reaching three meters, they are currently drawing in significant interest and are already operating at 100 percent full capacity. According to Ergül, if the snow fall continues, this year's ski season may be much longer than years in the past.
