The popular Indian magazine AsiaSpa India has awarded Turkey for being the most favorite spa destination in Europe.

An announcement released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism states that this year's GeoSpa/Asia Spa Awards, which is held annually for categories including the best spa facilities, hotels, restaurants as well as the best products, managers and therapists in the sector, has acquired an international scope.

AsiaSpa India has begun awarding international destinations under the category "Reader's Choice Awards", which now includes the best spa destinations in Europe and in Asia.

"Turkey has been selected for the 'Reader's Choice Awards: My Favorite Spa Destination-Europe' award by votes from over 350,000 readers. Also recognized in the Sixth GeoSpa/AsiaSpa Awards was Thailand for being the best spa destination in Asia.

The voting and evaluation of the Asia Spa India awards offered by India's high-circulation spa and wellness magazine AsiaSpa India were conducted at the India office of Grant Thornton International Ltd. which operates 500 offices in 100 countries all over the world."

The Ministry announcement went on to state that the Reader's Choice Awards: My Favorite Spa Destination-Europe award was presented to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Culture and Promotion Undersecretary Özgür Aytürk, who accepted the honor on behalf of Turkey at an awards ceremony held in New Delhi.
