Turkish Airlines opens new “Istanbul Arrival Lounge"

Turkish Airlines Director General Kotil says, “Istanbul will be the city with the highest number of connections and flights in the world.”

Turkish Airlines has opened an all-new "Istanbul Arrival Lounge" for "Business Class" and "Elite Plus" passengers arriving on international flights.

Speaking at the opening ceremony for the new high-class lounge at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Turkish Airlines Director General Temel Kotil stated that they have broken new ground in Turkey with their new "Istanbul Arrival Lounge" which has a 40-person capacity as well as six showers and one ironing room.

Explaining that passengers landing at the airport after long international flights will be able to use these new facilities, Kotil stated that the main purpose of the lounge will be to allow business people the opportunity to have a shower, shave and their clothes ironed before going to work without having to first stop at a hotel

Kotil also mentioned Istanbul's bid to host the 2020 Olympics and stated that Istanbul deserves to host the summer games because of the nation's cultural background which spans back 7,000 years as well as the fact that the city acts as a bridge between Asia and Europe. Kotil also said that Turkish Airlines (THY) is also getting ready for 2020 Olympics.

Commenting on Turkish Airlines' financial success, Kotil shared that this year the airline has recorded a 28 percent growth. "Our international flights are totally overbooked," said Kotil.
