Germans, Ukranians heading to Antalya this summer


After German tourists, Ukrainians are the second-biggest tourist group to Antalya province, according to the latest numbers. Three years ago, the resort city drew around 400,000 Ukrainian tourists, while the same number traveled to the city within the first seven months of 2016.Antalya Governor Münir Karaloğlu said, "Turkey and Ukraine share cultural and historical ties and political relations continue at the highest level." The governor said relations between the two countries can be improved through tourism. With five-star hotels and resort towns, the city's accommodation facilities have 1 million beds. Antalya attracted mostly German tourists this year, increasing 6 percent compared to last year.More than 3 million German tourists have visited Antalya so far. Compared to 2014, the city drew 177,000 more German tourists. In a previous statement, the Association of Ukrainian Travel Agencies announced that 746,000 Ukrainian tourists visited Turkey last year.
