Bodrum gears up for spectacular summer

If you are one of those beach lovers planning to spend your summer vacation in Bodrum, Turkey's ‘St. Tropez,' then here are some of the best spots for a luxurious, delicious experience

The trendiest, most popular vacation spots across Turkey are gearing up for the high summer season and the beautiful town of Bodrum is, without a doubt, one of the most ideal cities where many of the best spots can be found. The town of Bodrum, also known as Turkey's St. Tropez, is dotted with beach clubs, restaurants and luxurious hotels, one of which is the Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay. Located on the Gökova Bay, this hotel has been serving international guests for 12 years, situated on the pristine bay coast offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. The hotel offers a quiet beach experience without the loud music of other hotels in Bodrum and luxury is considered standard rather than privilege here.

The rooms of the hotel are designed to match the natural surroundings of summer. Spacious balconies and a spectacular view await you at this establishment. The hotel rooms, featuring vintage blinds, wicker sofas, antique-style air conditioners with propellers and blue-stone mirrors, reflect the essence of Mediterranean culture perfectly.

This precise tranquility is also reflected in the hotel's Chill-Out Lounge. With its high ceilings and modern art paintings, a menu offering Mediterranean cuisine and boundless sea views makes this place truly delightful. I can say that it is what I enjoyed the most in the hotel.

You can also enjoy the hotel's pool, which looks like the Maldives' Sea. The pool features a white dome and chimney shapes which reflect truly unique architecture. Alternatively, the purple deck chairs around the pool are intriguing and offer a regal touch. The hotel's beach, on the other hand, is sandy and wide.

Nice little perks include waiter buttons on the beach umbrellas for sea-side service and transportation to the beach via buggy carts which will make you feel privileged during your stay at Kempinski.

When it comes to meals, the hotel's Barbarossa Restaurant, located on the beach, is very enjoyable. I especially suggest that you try the honey calamari. The Turkish meze (appetizer) varieties are also mouthwatering and delicious and so I congratulate Chef Gökhan Keçe.

Furthermore, the hotel also has Far East cuisine at Saigon, Mediterranean cuisine at Olive and Italian cuisine at La Luce. Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay's SPA section, on the other hand, is really ostentatious. It's possible to even discover massage types that you have never heard of before at the Sanitas SPA. Golden Massage, done with 24-carat gold, sweet almond oil and palm oil is one of those.

While you can get a massage in one of the VIP rooms, you can also get a massage outdoors. It's the perfect atmosphere of relaxation with Moroccan-style relaxing areas, an indoor pool with a high ceiling, and professional massage therapists. I suggest you visit Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay the first chance you get this summer.

Before your visit, I also suggest that you check out the Discover program that offers many perks during your stay at the hotel. In the words of the hotel's management, "It's more than a membership. It's your window to the world." In short, there are many reasons to stay at Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay this summer.

While you're in Bodrum, I suggest that you to visit this summer's most popular restaurant, Hazine. Hazine provides services under the Jupiter group in the Yalıkavak area, under the ownership of Tayfun Topal. The restaurant, with its seafront location that enables boats to come alongside, gets five stars for its decorations and ambiance.

The place, with green tiles, brass embellishments and marble designs, is a superlative harmony of greens and browns. I especially loved the huge onyx marble behind the bar section. When it comes to meals, I loved the Dragon sushi the most. Besides this, I also recommend the duck. Another favorite of mine is the hot spicy shrimp. I also suggest you try the cocktails made by barista Emrah Durmaz.

Hazine utilizes the space very well. Besides the area where the tables are, there is a stage as well as a stage-front bistro area. Live music performances start after midnight and the place gets fully packed. After 3:00 a.m., in contrast, everyone goes to the indoor area at Hazine called Bi Alt Kat. There are Chester sofas and humorous paintings on the walls. Bi Alt Kat, where mostly Turkish songs are played, adds new flavor to Bodrum's concept of entertainment.

I think it has surely become Bodrum's most popular entertainment spot with its incredible service quality, flavors and ambiance. I congratulate Tayfun Topal for the popularity he acquired in Bodrum after his success in Istanbul Cihangir with the same restaurant.

My last suggestion in Bodrum is the Kuum Beach Club. Like it is every summer, the beach club located in Türkbükü is also hosting very special guests this summer. Under the supervision of famous manager Ersin Suzer, Kuum Beach Club features innovative designs with its special deck chairs, lounge sections and menu. It has a simple and chic atmosphere and is designed in pastel colors.

The flavors of the place are also mind-blowing. I suggest that you try the salmon filet and hamburgers made with homemade bread. The barbecued jumbo shrimp is also very delicious. For pizza lovers, pizza with herbs and cheese would be my suggestion. All the pizzas are cooked in a stone oven and there is a fish restaurant located here. It's possible for you to come across someone famous at any time during your visit at this restaurant, which is accessible by boat.

Promising a relaxing vacation, Kuum Beach also offers sensational happy hour parties to be organized this year. Just last week, they hosted hundreds of people at a party held with Ozan Doğulu. This spot is an indispensable place for evening parties with a wide bar area, huge, wide pier and dance areas. The sea next to it is very clear and calm.

In short, Kuum Beach Club is one of the most aspiring places where the sea, food and entertainment come together. I suggest that you visit it as soon as you can.
