Discover Turkey up above with new hot air balloon destinations

When it comes to hot air balloon rides in Turkey, the first place that comes to mind is Cappadocia, the fairy-tale-like land in Nevşehir. However, it looks like this magical experience will spread to all over Turkey, according to the latest announcement by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

To increase tourism activities in Turkey, hot air balloon flights will soon take place in nine other destinations that stand out with historic and natural beauty, including Bucak, Pamukkale, Kozan, Ahlat, Polatlı, İhsaniye, Seyitgazi, Bafra and Ihlara.

The first destination to get the hot air balloon travel license will be Pamukkale, famous for its travertine deposits and ruins from the ancient city of Hierapolis. So far, five agencies have received their licenses in Pamukkale.

According to the data provided by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, a total of 25 hot air balloon agencies are operating in Cappadocia and engage in a total of 90 flights daily, offering services to 500,000 tourists every year.

It is believed that with the new destinations, Turkey's potential for hot air balloon flights will soar and increase tourism activities all over the country.
