Korean Embassy in Ankara to open Korean language courses

The South Korean ambassador to Turkey, Jae Hyun Bae, and Ankara University Chancellor Cemal Taluğ will be signing a memorandum of understanding to establish a King Sejong Institute, slated to open on Nov. 1, in Ankara to increase awareness of the Korean language and culture in Turkey.

The King Sejong Institute takes its names from King Sejong the Great (1397-1450), who created the Korean Hangul alphabet, and is a government institute that provides integrated and standardized information about and courses for learning Korean all around the world. The institute will be housed in the Tunalı Hilmi branch of Ankara University's Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center (TÖMER) and classes will begin on Nov. 1, 2010, in the same venue.CIHAN
