PM Erdoğan chairs high-level security meeting

Prime Minister Erdoğan called an urgent security meeting on Tuesday to discuss security issues.



A security meeting being chaired by Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan commenced at 14:30 on Tuesday at the Prime Ministry's official residence in Ankara.

Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay, Chief of General Staff General Necdet Özel, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, Interior Minister Muammer Güler, National Defense Minister Ismet Yılmaz , Prime Ministry Undersecretary Efkan Ala and MIT (National Intelligence) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan are attending the meeting set to discuss security issues.

The two main issues expected to dominate Tuesday's security meeting are the halt to the PKK terrorits organization's withdrawal from Turkey as part of an ongoing resolution process as well as recent developments regarding potential U.S. military action in Syria.
