Directorate of Religious Affairs head Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez has announced that on Friday the directorate along with the Turkish Religious Affairs Foundation, will be collecting aid at all mosques to be sent to the victims of the recent devastating typhoon in the Philippines.
Announcing plans for the Directorate of Religious Affairs and the Turkish Religious Affairs Foundation to work in conjunction on collecting aid at mosques throughout the country on Friday, Directorate of Religious Affairs head Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez stated during a visit with Kırıkkale Governor Ali Kolat, "Hopefully on Friday (today), we will be able to extend a helping hand through the aid we will have collected by our nation, as we did in Somalia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Haiti, and we will be able to indiscriminately distribute the assistance we will have collected, Never mind that this request has been made by our Muslim brothers there, we take on the duty of extending our nation's helping hand to all of those who are suffering in the Philippines from this grave tragedy.
