Turkish scientist at the South Pole

As part of the first Turkey-Antarctica Program Turkish sicentists arrived Antarctica to conduct researches.



Turkish scientist, Associate Professor Yakup Çelik, an academician at Istanbul University's Faculty of Geological Engineering, arrived to Antarctica for a scientific research as part of the first Turkey-Antarctica Program.

Holding examinations on Antarctic glacial deposits and a general geological study of the South Pole to form a basis for Turkey's further researches in the polar region, Çelik made his mark as the first Turkish scientist at the South Pole.
