THY flight returns after Karachi attack
ISTANBUL — All international flights to Karachi's Jinnah International Airport were cancelled after a Taliban attack killed 28 and injured many more. A Turkish Airlines flight was forced to return back to Istanbul.Following the Taliban's deadly attack on Karachi international airport, all flight operations were suspended for 24 hours at the airport until Pakistani security forces take control of airport security.The authorities stated that they would hand over the airport to the Civil Aviation Authority at 12:00 p.m. on the condition that full security has been restored.Due to security concerns, as of June 8, Turkish airlines (THY) announced that all flights from and to Karachi Jinnah International Airport had been cancelled. Soon after flight number TK 708 took off, it was obliged to return to Istanbul Atatürk Airport after receiving news about the bombing attack.Turkish airlines authorities announced that flights to and from Karachi International Airport would be rescheduled as the Pakistani armed forces have gained full control and cleared the airport of militants as of Monday.
