A person notifying police department of drug dealing will be awarded TL 180, 000 for every kilogram of liquid heroin that police seize, according to Turkey's Official Gazette, where new laws must be published before they can go into effect.Following recent drug related deaths of teenagers, Turkish government took several steps to combat drug usage in the country.According to a law that went into effect on Sunday, a person who notifies police of drug dealers will be awarded large amount of awards by the state: TL 180, 000 for every kilogram of liquid heroin, TL 60,000 for heroin, TL 60,000 for cocaine, TL 60,000 for liquid marijuana, 36,000 for morphine base, TL 120,000 for synthetic drugs, TL 150,000 for cannabis, TL 60,000 for bonsai (commonly known as bonzai).
