A Turkish F-16 fighter jet has crashed on Tuesday as it was landing at a local airport in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

The two pilots ejected safely from the jet before it smashed to the ground.

Flights to the airport have temporarily been cancelled after the accident.
