Greece to restore historic building in İzmir

The new Greek government has decided to fund the restoration of a historical building in the western Turkish city of İzmir that once served as a Greek consulate. The building in İzmir's Kordon district was among state properties abroad that the Samaras government reportedly planned to sell amid a dire financial crisis that is still affecting Greece. However, the Tsipras government scrapped the plans and allocated funds for the restoration to a Turkish company.
